Let’s Play and restore

Join us in Costa Rica for a yoga retreat devoted to exploration—of movement, breath, and exploring the truest parts of ourselves ready to be experienced. Each day invites something new: practices that spark curiosity with movement, playful workshops for growth and balance, and moments of delicious stillness and pause.

With the beach just steps away, exploration extends far beyond the mat. You’ll have time to wander, swim, adventure, delight in delicious locally-sourced cuisine, and reconnect with nature and yourself within all that beautiful Nosara has to offer.

This retreat is an invitation to play, for ALL audiences—to try new shapes, walk new or familiar paths, and breathe in space for joy, clarity, and connection. There is no "level" or pre-requisite, except to be open and ready to enjoy.

Come ready to discover and delight in the magic of being fully alive in the way that satisfies your personal serenity. This retreat is yours, let’s make it right!

YOUR TEACHERS

Kathleen

Teaching brings me joy.

I’m a mama of 2, artist, and enjoy exploring this whackadoo life with my kids and family of friends.

I started my journey with yoga at Purusha Yoga studio in San Francisco, CA over a decade ago, but I have been immersed in all kinds of movement since I was a wee little one.

I am a RYT-500 yoga teacher and certified Thai Yoga Bodywork provider. In the yoga community I have served as a teacher, studio manager, and Director of a Yoga Therapy school; teaching over 1,500 classes, workshops, retreats, and supporting a smattering of yoga teacher trainings.

I love embracing the element of play within the physical practice, and strive to find different approaches to release, knowing not everyone’s “way in” is the same. I have a slight obsession with inversions, arm balances, and supported postures with props and have spent more time then I would like to admit dissecting them and learning how to help others find them in their own bodies. The Thai Yoga Bodywork has really expanded the way I offer assists and adjustments in class, and my continued interest in the philosophy, anatomy, and meditative aspects of yoga will hopefully continue to inform the way I teach forever, with so much still to learn.

My ultimate hope for this retreat would be for every member of this intimate group to walk away refreshed, and feeling connected to a greater sense of themselves and how they want to navigate and greet the world.

Taylor

Move. Breathe. Live.

Movement and breath are my passions, and I love exploring how they can guide us toward deeper awareness, balance, and self-discovery.

I am an RYT-500 yoga teacher, personal trainer, and licensed massage therapist. My path as a teacher began in 2015 as a CrossFit coach and gradually evolved into teaching yoga several years later. Along the way, I’ve led workshops on posture and alignment and shared my love of anatomy as an instructor for yoga teacher trainings.

In my classes, I invite a slow, intentional pace — exploring the spaces between postures where students can find easeful strength and steadiness without rigidity.

Outside the studio, I love hiking, trail running, and spending time in my garden.

My intention in hosting retreats is to create spaces where people can connect, explore new experiences, and remember the strength, wisdom, and beauty already within them.

“I have attended Bodhi as a retreat host and guest and can vouch for the beauty, comfort, food, and staff. I’ve gotten lost in my thoughts wandering around the grounds, I’ve gone back for a third helping of something delicious, and I’ve felt at home in their beautiful rooms and outdoor showers. I wanted to be somewhere where, as the host, I feel especially able to support and guide my group toward their goals for this retreat, not to mention – it’s just magic”

TESTIMONIALS

“The resort is a paradise. Kathleen’s spirit, kindness, energy and understanding were given freely and her classes left everyone somehow energized and grounded at the same time. She fostered connection between a group of people where many went on the retreat not knowing anyone else. I would jump on a plane tomorrow and do it all again.” - CA

“Taylor by nature is a healer. His classes are curated with intention and purpose, building up on each pose until you’re moving so freely you don’t even realize how you got there. I would recommend his yoga classes and workshops to anyone looking to explore their body in a meaningful way.” - OC

“There was so much deliberateness in how Kathleen created this retreat and I’m so grateful for all of her care, attention and concern. She was able to pivot with ease and wrangle a dozen people with different needs and backgrounds. I think she made everyone feel like they were her own special guest.” - KB

“I had the privilege of joining Kathleen’s group in Bozeman, Montana. I have done yoga workshops and retreats all over the world and found hers to be one of my favorites. It was the perfect combination of yoga, meditation, rest, delicious food, adventure, and experiencing the wonderful group of women. Kathleen was an exceptional leader, with a special attention to detail. I look forward to more retreats with her!” - RB

“Kathleen’s yoga classes are beautiful. Her presence is welcoming and soothing. Within the first few breaths she gracefully creates a safe place to move, expand your practice or just simply find stillness.” - CP

“There is a really thoughtful progression to Taylor’s classes, you move into poses safely and with purpose - they are preparing you for what’s to come intelligently so you can do it with confidence.” - KL

“It was the perfect place to slow down, breathe, and truly immerse myself in the moment. Every experience felt so intentional, from moving through yoga flows surrounded by nature, to a cheeky little river adventure.” - KK
